How to get to OneDrive in a web browser

Reach your own work files from any computer, including a recycle bin for deleted ones.

OneDrive is your personal work storage. Getting to it in a browser is useful when you are on someone else's computer, or when a file has not synced to your own.

Step by step

  1. Go to the sign-in page. Visit microsoft365.com (or onedrive.com) and sign in with your work email address, not a personal Microsoft account.
  2. Open OneDrive. Click the app launcher (the grid of squares, top-left) and choose OneDrive.
  3. Find your files. Use My files for everything you own, Recent for what you have just had open, and Shared for files other people have sent you.
  4. Upload or download. Drag files straight onto the page to upload, or tick a file and choose Download.
  5. Share a file. Tick the file and click Share. Check who the link works for before you send it - the safest option is naming the person rather than "anyone with the link".

If it does not go to plan

  • You land on a personal OneDrive: sign out completely, then sign back in with your work address.
  • A file is missing: check the Recycle bin in the left-hand menu before assuming it is gone.

Still stuck?

Call us on (07) 5619 6555 or start a remote support session and an engineer will take a look. Screens move around between app versions, so if what you see does not match these steps, that is usually why.
